Plyometric
drills usually involve jumping, skipping and hopping but
take many different forms. Plyometrics like any exercise are
performed by sets and reps similar to weightlifting.
Some
jumping plyometric exercises that people perform to increase
their speed and power are jump roping. With jump roping,
concentrate on the feet touching the ground for the shortest
amount of time possible (jump quickly off the ground). Vary
the types of jump: one leg, two legs and heel touches.
Other exercises include box jumps, single leg jumps and
squat jumps with weights.
Plyometric exercises generally do not require many weights
or machines as you only use your body weight. Jumping
Plyometrics are a great way to increase your vertical leap
as well as increasing your muscular endurance and strength.
